Becky Delgado brings decades of financial stewardship to Bennet Legal Research Group. As Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, she safeguards the firm's fiscal discipline, builds the infrastructure that supports its growth, and ensures that a business built on trust is itself run to an impeccable standard. Her hand steadies everything: pricing, planning, controls, and the quiet confidence that the firm will be exactly as reliable in its books as it is in its work.
Background
Becky earned her B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Michigan and an M.S. in finance from New York University's Stern School of Business. She is a Certified Public Accountant and spent the formative years of her career in audit and advisory before moving into corporate finance leadership.
She built her reputation on an unglamorous but rare virtue: the numbers are always right, and they are right on time. In an industry where many firms treat finance as an afterthought, Becky has always regarded it as the discipline that makes everything else possible.
Those who have worked with her describe a leader who is exacting about controls and generous about mentorship, and who treats the firm's money with the seriousness of someone who has seen what happens when others do not.
Career
Before Bennet, Becky served as Chief Financial Officer of Aldergate Professional Services, a mid-market advisory firm, where she led the finance organization through a period of sustained growth and professionalized its planning, reporting, and controls. Earlier she was Vice President of Finance at Corbin & Reyes, an international consulting group, overseeing budgeting, treasury, and financial operations across multiple offices.
She began her career in the audit practice of a national accounting firm, where she spent nearly a decade auditing professional-services and financial clients and developed the instinct for risk that has defined her leadership ever since.
Across every role she has been the executive other executives trust to tell them the unvarnished financial truth, early enough to do something about it.
At Bennet
As CFO, Becky owns the firm's financial strategy, planning, and controls, from engagement pricing and profitability to capital allocation for the firm's investments in data, technology, and talent. She built Bennet's financial infrastructure to scale with the demands of serving the world's most sophisticated clients.
She partners closely with Robert on the firm's growth strategy and with James on operational execution, ensuring that ambition is always matched by fiscal discipline. Her financial rigor gives the firm the freedom to invest boldly in its intelligence capabilities without ever losing its footing.
She also stewards the firm's relationships with its banking, audit, and insurance partners, holding the firm's own governance to the standard it promises clients.
Approach & philosophy
Becky believes that financial discipline is a form of respect — for clients, for colleagues, and for the firm's future. She runs a tight, transparent operation and regards surprises as failures of preparation.
She is a persistent advocate for investing in the firm's long-term capabilities, arguing that the right expenditure, made deliberately, is the surest path to durable strength.
